The Green Mountains in Winter

without comments

Recently, I had the opportunity to follow the meandering path that Vermont’s Route 9 cuts across the state. Beginning at the New York border, the road traverses the Green Mountains National Forest through Bennington and then continues its winding route to Brattleboro and on into New Hampshire.

It was bitterly cold on the day I made my trip, with a gusting wind that pushed the temperature below the 11 degrees my car’s thermometer reported. But, as the few pictures I took show, the sky was clear and the sun shone brightly, providing a gorgeous and far-ranging view of the Green Mountains.
